Weather

  • Summer: December – February.
South African summers are characterized by their warm and diverse climatic conditions. Spanning from December to February, this season showcases a kaleidoscope of weather patterns across the country.  In the northern regions, such as Gauteng and Limpopo, summers are typically hot and humid, with temperatures often soaring above 30°C (86°F). Afternoon thunderstorms are common, providing relief from the heat. We recommend you bring a sweater for cool evenings and swimwear, sunblock, and a hat, should you wish to take a dip in the pool during off-times.
  • Autumn/Fall: March – May
Autumn in South Africa, spanning from March to May, paints a picture of transition across its diverse landscapes. As the intense summer heat fades and the colourful autumn leaves appear, South Africa showcases its stunning natural beauty as nature prepares for the cooler months ahead. It is warm during the day and can get cooler at night. We therefore recommend you bring a warm jacket, sweater, or jersey for the cooler evenings.
  • Winter: June – August
Winters are generally dry and sunny during the day, but nights can be quite cold. Temperatures can drop to near freezing at night, especially in June and July. We recommend you bring warm jackets and jerseys, beanies and scarves.
  • Spring: September – November
September in South Africa is Spring when days start getting warmer with cool evenings. You can expect mild to warm temperatures, with daytime highs averaging around 20-25°C (68-77°F). Nights can still be cool, especially early in the season, with temperatures dropping to around 10-15°C (50-59°F).

The TEN Campus does have aircon in the rooms and conference room.

Covid 19 health and safety protocols

You may need to have a COVID-19 Vaccination card for entry into South Africa and return to your country. Please check with your travel agent what is required of you. South Africa currently has no such restrictions. There are no government-required health and safety protocols that must be observed in South Africa for any gatherings. Therefore, we do not enforce or require strict adherence to COVID-19 protocols (mask-wearing, distancing etc.)

However, we do request that all guests be considerate to one another, so should you present any symptoms upon arrival or during the conference you will be required to inform Campus Management immediately. Should you require medical assistance (Covid related or otherwise) you will be transported to the nearest medical facilities. Please note all medical care costs and additional accommodation away from the campus will be for your own account.
